The King brand was born in 1975 as a small family company focused on the construction of marine hardware. After a couple of years of growth and development, King came to be both Supplier and Representative of Harken for Argentina, Uruguay and Chile.
In 1998 King started producing aluminum masts, becoming in a few years the largest spar manufacturer in South America.

Soon after the company started to produce carbon booms and then masts for the South America's market. The first commission was for Brazil`s Olympic medalist Torben Grael.
After 2001, King opens to the international market, finding very good reception in the European market. King's Carbon Division's growth was skyrocketing.
A new 38m long autoclave is built in Buenos Aires, Argentina and the production is moved to an independent work shop (2.200sqm).
In 2005 King has achieved great recognition on the race courses in Europe. New investments are made in the company, including a 5 axes CNC milling machine, a CNC cutter for the carbon fabric and new paint booth.
During 2007 and since King was supplying for several America`s Cup teams, a commercial and services office in opened in Valencia, Spain.
King was the first spar builder to obtain the ISO 9000:2001 certification for it's quality control system. This certification was extended by the Bureau Veritas in March of 2008.
At the beginning of 2010 King unveils their new facility in Valencia, Spain. It represents a giant step for King Composite.
This new location allows King to be much closer to their clients, significantly cutting down on transport costs and delivery times.
Being on the Mediterranean area also makes it much easier for Project Managers to visit King during the construction of the masts, making a fluent communication and project follow-up possible. Sales service is also greatly enhanced by having a complete building team available close to the sailing area.
The plant counts on a 45m long autoclave with 1,5m internal diameter. This is the largest autoclave built in Spain and one of the largest in Europe.
