The Institute of Design for Manufacture (IDF) and King Composite signed a collaboration agreement to develop new materials for the competition sailing industry.
Agreement with IDF
King Composite is a leader in the development of high performance composites, specializing in the manufacture of carbon fiber masts for sailboats for ACC , TP 52, S 40 and IRC. It currently has four centers in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Ilhabela (Brazil), Genoa (Italy) and Valencia (Spain).
The IDF CompositeLab operates in composites forming processes, both from the standpoint of design and the manufacturing and numerical simulation. Highlight their recent work on Green Composites which are developing new composites with lower environmental impact.
The result of the foregoing activities of both groups, was launched this collaboration which addresses the manufacture of components used in alternative to the highly competitive sailing. It´s planned to newly created group participation in calls for R&D regional, national and European.
